Celebrating Everyone's Worth

October 1, 2026 was a night to celebrate.

The Humanity Project joined seven other outstanding nonprofit organizations at a special gathering marking grants awarded by FLoatarama — including a generous $10,000 grant to support our work with young people.

We are deeply grateful.

The grant will help fund two closely related Humanity Project programs, Humanity Club and Antibullying Through The Arts, with a particular focus on improving self-worth and appreciation of LGBTQ students while helping to prevent bullying.

That work goes directly to the heart of our mission.

For more than 20 years, the Humanity Project has worked in schools and throughout the community to build self-worth, equality and respect for every individual. We believe these qualities are connected. Young people who learn to recognize their own worth are better equipped to recognize the worth of others. And when respect becomes part of a school’s culture, bullying has less room to flourish.

For LGBTQ students, that message can be especially important. Too many young people still encounter rejection, ridicule or bullying because of who they are or because of how others perceive them. No child should have to enter a classroom, hallway or cafeteria wondering whether simply being themselves will make them a target.

Our programs approach the problem from the inside out.

Humanity Club helps students become leaders in creating more respectful, inclusive school environments. Antibullying Through The Arts uses creative expression to help young people explore self-worth, empathy, bullying and respect in ways that can reach them differently from lectures or rules alone.

The goal isn't merely to tell students not to bully. It is to help foster young people who understand, at a deeper level, why every person deserves respect — including themselves.

That is why FLoatarama’s support means so much to us. This grant is more than financial assistance. It is an investment in young people and in the kind of communities we hope they will create as they grow.

The FLoatarama celebration also reminded us that we are not doing this work alone. Seven other deserving nonprofit organizations received grants, each addressing important needs within our LGBTQ community. We were proud to stand among them and grateful to FLoatarama for making all of this work possible.

The Humanity Project has always believed that lasting change begins with something very basic: helping people understand their own value and the equal value of the person beside them.

With FLoatarama’s generous support, we can continue bringing that message to young people who need to hear it.

You matter. And so does everyone else.
