Our Programs Member Programs: We teach members of our organization how to live more happily by making unselfish giving a way of life - and we show them how to serve as positive role models whose daily actions demonstrate the value of helping others. We also train selected volunteers to carry this message into the community. 1. Step-by-step method: We give members a ten step system that offers a practical way to change the focus of their actions and thoughts from self-centered concerns to helping others. 2. Role models: We provide our members with a blueprint for turning their everyday lives into powerful examples of living more happily through giving so they become role models for both adults and children. 3. Teaching volunteers: We train motivated volunteers to take The Humanity Project message into the community in an effective, sensitive way, allowing us to introduce more people to giving as a means to achieve meaningful happiness. Seminars for Adults: Our two-hour seminar for adults is based on our step system. It is a highly interactive experience that includes audience participation in roleplaying and brief writing exercises that teach people how they can give to others - and the enormous personal benefits of making this effort the goal of daily life. The seminar includes storytelling, live music and activities designed to engage the hearts and minds of the entire group. Seminars for Children: Our one-hour seminar for children is even more interactive than the adult seminar, presenting an entertaining workshop geared for young minds. Stories, live music, games and lively discussions keep kids entertained while offering them a simple, clear message: They can become happier individuals if they try to help other people. Live Community Talks: We offer free half-hour talks to community organizations. These engaging sessions are based on our seminars and offer some of the basic ideas about happiness and giving that form the foundation of our work. Innovative Website Features: Our free website at www.thehumanityproject.com is available to anyone with access to a computer. In addition to original blogs, podcasts and other information about happiness and giving, our site soon will provide interactive features, short fun films and other fresh materials to help teach a giving life to those who can't attend our meetings. |
