One common humanity

The Humanity Project leads a march to Fort Lauderdale’s Equality Rally

This extension of our Humanity Project Speakers Bureau leads public forums on issues of equality, respect-for-all, diversity and our common humanity, emphasizing the value of marginalized members of our society. We try to reach churches, organizations and other groups that may not be familiar with, or often disagree with, our ideas to expand an understanding of human value.

 How This serves our mission:

The Humanity Project believes that inequality and disrespect result from ignorance and fear. Those who belittle or harm LGBTQ persons, people of color, religious minorities or women always act without any genuine understanding of the individuals who make up these groups. Equality and respect emerge by greater familiarity with the concerns, history and common humanity of those groups. As Dr. Martin Luther King said, "I am convinced that men hate each other because they fear each other. They fear each other because they don’t know each other, and they don’t know each other because they don’t communicate with each other, and they don’t communicate with each other because they are separated from each other.”
